as in employing the great power of unity with Amway Global, the
Independent Business Owners Association International (IBOAI),
Founders Council, Diamonds, Platinums, and the newest IBO!
 The
mandate of the Independent Business Owners Association
International
is not complicated: Represent and serve all IBOs from every
organization by working closely with Amway Global to secure and
enhance everyone’s opportunity.
My job as this year’s Chairman is even less complicated: Guide,
encourage, and focus our “All Star” team.
Your
Board
represents many years of experience and practical problem-solving
expertise. Each
Director
is a hard working, active, qualified Diamond. Steve Woods chairs
the Legal and Ethics committee. Kathy Victor leads Business
Operations. Joe Markiewicz guides Awards & Recognition. These,
along with Jim Dornan, Shivaram Kumar, and Glen Baker, make up the
Executive Committee that sets our agenda. The Marketing Advisory
Committee (MAC) is chaired by Terry Andrews.
Past Chairman Bill Hawkins exhibited masterful leadership last year
and his assistance to me in the capacity of a past chairman will be
invaluable. Also, I will lean on the experience of Vice Chair Steve
Woods. Jody Victor and Jim Janz will return as the Governance and
Oversight committee. These two amazing leaders will help me
navigate rough waters and avoid mine fields. As you can see, with
this
Board
and leadership team, 2009 is poised to be a banner year. This is
our earnest expectation!
In a few words, here is my vision for your
Board
in 2009:

Prove ourselves to be a trusted, indispensible, and loyal
partner to the DeVos and Van Andel families.

Forge final agreement on details to the most lucrative and
progressive Sales Incentive Program (SIP) in history.

Continue and Increase communication on Board activity with
organizational leadership.
-
Partner with Amway Global on 2009 “Spotlights” to include
coordination with IBO events.
-
Work closely with Steve Lieberman,
Managing Director;
Sandy Spielmaker,
Vice President of Sales;
and the entire Amway Global team on initiatives designed to
double North America’s volume.
The IBOAI welcomes your input on any matter. You know this business
at a personal level and the things that will make it a better
opportunity for everyone. We want to hear your ideas, no matter how
small or how big. You are the heart of this association, and your
ideas matter. Let us hear them.
