After a week of 15-hour days, the IBOAI Board committees made their recommendations to Amway Global for consideration and everyone has gone home with a renewed sense of excitement.

“We were able to sustain our Brand New Day philosophy and continue to dialogue with the Corporation like no other Board in history,” said Chairman Bill Hawkins, who just wrapped up the fourth and final Board Meeting for 2008. “We’re hopeful you will soon see what a difference this year has made.”

Board Members in the Awards & Recognition, Business Operations, and Legal & Ethics Committees and Marketing Advisory Committee (MAC) Members worked closely with Amway Global Vice President of Sales Sandy Spielmaker and other corporate staff to iron out recommendations, all of which we hope the Corporation will enact. In addition, Amway Global Vice President and Managing Director Steve Lieberman and Alticor Executive Vice President Jim Payne contributed to key sessions.

These full-day sessions resulted in a number of proposals on how to continue with Amway Global’s Transformation plan, encouraging the company to keep the Board and field leadership involved in the process. Many of the details are being finalized so we can’t be more specific, but you will soon see the results of the hard work. Watch for details in the weeks ahead.

In addition to recognizing members retiring from the Board and MAC at the end of the year, the Board issued awards during the General Closing Session for meritorious service:

• Fred Hansen Spirit Award: Mike Sullivan (Director of Amway Global Marketing)

• Joe Victor Leadership Award: 2008 Chairman Bill Hawkins

This marks the end of the IBOAI’s 49^th year. Although this was the final official Board Meeting of 2008, your Board continues work tirelessly through the end of the year on important issues by way of phone conference calls, e-mails, and other communications channels. As we head into our 50^th year as the voice of the IBO and the Amway Global Transformation continues, we move forward as the industry leader because we march together.
