Board Sees Only Growth Ahead

With another successful business year just concluded, the Board of the Independent Business Owners Association International convened last October to plan for continued growth in 2004.

Just like every year since Amway Global's launch, fiscal 2003 was stronger than the year that preceded it. In 2003, Independent Business Owners powered by Amway Global generated record-breaking sales of $1.035 billion, up $134 million over last year. IBOs earned $343 million in bonuses and incentives―$61 million more than in 2002.

Instrumental in this success was a sensational group of new products and services, developed with the input and support of the IBOA International. Among the new entries to the product portfolio were the eSpring® Water Purifier, Nutrilite® Carb Blocker 2, and several new Artistry® offerings, including the exciting Spa Collection.

To ensure that 2004 continues on the growth track, the Board examined a variety of new products scheduled to launch in the coming months. They also reviewed promotional programs, suggested several Web site improvements, and began working on recommendations for next year's Amway Global Business Incentives.

The Board also announced its slate of officers for 2004, including Fred Harteis, President; Billy Florence, Vice President; and new Board member Greg Duncan, Secretary/Treasurer. Beginning three-year terms this month are new Board members Brad Biegert, Jim Dornan, Terry Felber, Roland Hughes, Shivaram Kumar, Angelo Nardone, and Steve Woods.

According to tradition, the October meeting's Closing General Session is the venue for presentation of the Joe Victor Leadership Award. Past President Don Wilson was the recipient of the year's award. Also honored at the Closing General Session were outgoing President Jerry Meadows, and outgoing Marketing Advisory Committee Chairpersons, Cherry Meadows and Julie Duncan.

Remember, the IBOA International is your voice in this business, and the Board welcomes your input and suggestions. Contact the Board at iboai@iboai.com.
