Conventional wisdom suggests that two things you never talk
about in polite company are politics and religion.
These subjects often times stir fierce emotions, which may
lead to hostility - clearly not proper in an otherwise
positive business setting.
So it shouldn’t surprise you that two things the rules of
this business say you shouldn’t discuss on stage are
politics and religion. The rule – 3.1 – actually broadens
the list to include race, gender, and nationality:
No IBO shall present the business as anything other than an
opportunity available to anyone regardless of race, gender,
nationality, or religious or political beliefs to any
person.
There are so many good things to talk about in this
business, why go off on a tangent about race, gender,
nationality, politics, or religion?
Instead, talk enthusiastically about…
-
the business’s rich history of success – it’s coming up
on its 50th anniversary
-
a business where you have the total backing of your
upline
-
your line of sponsorship’s long line of leadership and
the support it provides
-
the industry-leading sales and marketing plan and its
great payoff for effort
-
the huge selection of top quality products with
something for everyone
-
the unending support of the Corporation and its
continual building of the opportunity
-
the representation by your trade association, the IBOAI,
unique in the industry
-
a Board and Corporation that keeps looking for ways of
making the business better – for you
These are just a few suggestions, but you get the idea. Once
you start talking up the business, you won’t have time to
talk down anyone else. And isn’t that one of the things we
like to brag about the Amway Global opportunity, that it’s a
positive business?
