Because maintaining the integrity of the LOS is essential,
the Corporation, with the recommendation of the IBOAI,
adopted special
Rules of Conduct
to help you protect it.
One of those is Rule 6.5, the Non-competition and
Anti-Raiding Rule. While you are free to operate other
businesses while you’re an IBO, this rule says you must not
operate one that uses a tiered compensation plan, is a
network-marketing opportunity, or sells competing products.
In particular, other network-marketing opportunities require
building – or bringing with you – a line of sponsorship for
growth. Many who leave one network-marketing opportunity
join another only to tear away their line of sponsorship
from one business and plug it into the other, affecting not
only their own individual business but also that of their
uplines and downlines. They couch it in terms of their own
freedom to move friends and relatives with them but
conveniently forget to mention how they’re affecting the
health of everyone else’s business.
Just as devastating are those in other network-marketing
businesses who solicit IBOs from your own LOS. Sometimes
they’re former IBOs who raid
your Line of
Sponsorship. We all have to be on the lookout for them, but
to help discourage them the Corporation, with the IBOAI’s
recommendation, implemented the Anti-Raiding part of the
Rule. It says that even when you leave Amway Global /
Quixtar, you can’t
solicit Amway Global / Quixtar IBOs or otherwise “interfere in the
Amway Global / Quixtar
business of other IBOs.” It’s meant to protect everyone’s
LOS.
This is a business that depends on relationships, and the
LOS is its greatest asset. We must always be on the guard to
protect the LOS against those who would rob us of it. The
best way to protect it is to build strong relationships and
profitable IBOs who remain in our LOS.
Note: One of the criteria for achieving Amway Global /
Quixtar
Accreditation is applying Best Practices. In this series,
IBOAI explores the Amway Global / Quixtar Best Practices and how to apply
them to your IBO business.
