Ask IBOAI Chairman, Kathy Victor, how the Board meetings went this past week and she responds enthusiastically, "It was an incredibly productive week!" In fact, she made it clear at the closing session on Thursday, June 21, that every Board member and committee works very hard and works well together on behalf of all IBOs. At the closing session, she let them know, "You're all very valuable and appreciated. I'm excited to be working with all of you!"
The busy week at the IBOAI Board offices began on a high note, with a huge attendance at the IBOAI Board's Opening Session. It was an honor and pleasure for the Board to welcome Amway President Doug DeVos, new Regional President of the Americas, Tanios Viviani, and John Parker, Chief Sales Officer. Continuing their strong partnership with the Board, Sandy Spielmaker, Amway North America's Vice President of Sales, Jori Hartwig, Vice President of Marketing, and their Directors participated in as many discussions and Board meetings as possible. Several Corporate staff members presented potential new products and programs to the Board and Marketing Advisory Committee (MAC) and listened and learned about what's working and what needs improvement for success in the field. Another highlight was a surprise visit on Wednesday evening by Founders Crown Ambassador and former IBOAI Board member, Jim Dornan!
The Awards & Recognition Committee made several proposals including committee members becoming more involved in the corporate event planning process. The Business Operations Committee, warmly referred to as the Biz Ops Team, were especially productive in their meetings, resulting in excellent recommendations on the DITTO® program, the Message Center at Amway.com, and Personal Retail Websites (PRWs).The Legal & Ethics Committee, joined by Amway's Chief Legal Officer, Mike Mohr, had a full agenda of proposals to review.
The ladies on the MAC team proved themselves to be focused and fearless. They delved into discussions on ARTISTRY® skincare, weight management, and several other topics from first thing in the morning to late at night. They listened intently to potential product and program plans from Cindy Seehase, Director of Trade Development, and her team as well as the Marketing Department. And, on behalf of all IBOs, as do all the Board committees, they provided thoughtful and constructive feedback to the Corporation.
At the Closing Session, Sandy Spielmaker invited the IBOAI Board and Amway executives in the room to reflect on the progress made over the last four years - and what has been achieved through team work between the IBOAI and the Corporation. "We are about to enter our 30th month of consecutive growth in North America. That kind of growth is a reflection of the people in this room and your hard work. And it couldn't have been done without Kathy Victor. She is never too busy for us. She is a dynamo!"
Kathy Victor reminded Sandy and everyone in the room, "We've come a long way over the last few years and we couldn't have gotten through it without you and your team, Sandy. Thank you for your partnership. Thank you to everyone!"
