IBOA International

The Independent Business Owners Association International, Inc. (IBOAI) is the advocacy organization for North American Independent Business Owners (IBOs) affiliated with Amway®. The IBOAI advises Amway on every facet of the North American business, from products and promotions to operations and business guidelines. The IBOAI and Amway are dedicated to partnering for success with your input, support and participation.

The IBOAI Difference

When entrepreneurs start businesses, they usually have no one but themselves looking after their own interests, but not Independent Business Owners (IBOs).

The minute someone becomes an IBO they also become a member of the Independent Business Owners Association International (IBOAI) and gain the strength of an entire organization that exists solely to pursue their business interests. The IBOAI works tirelessly to improve all the factors influencing IBOs' businesses, minimizing their risks and maximizing their opportunities.

Specifically, the IBOA International targets the areas where it can most improve IBO businesses.

  1. The IBOA International advises Amway North America, formerly Quixtar Inc. on ALL areas of its operations that impact Independent Businesses.

    We have an extremely close working relationship. Anytime Amway proposes changing any aspect of its business—product lines, compensation structure, policies, etc.—it seeks input from the IBOA International first.

    One or more IBOA International committees, and often the full IBOA International Board of Directors, reviews the proposed change and submits a recommendation to Amway based ONLY on how it affects IBOs. If the proposed change has the potential to hurt IBO businesses, the Board of the IBOAI will recommend against it—and Amway has a solid record of concurring with IBOAI recommendations.

    The IBOA International also pursues changes with Amway when it feels it can improve the business environment of Independent Business Owners. In addition, the IBOA International researches new products and recommends additions to the product lines when opportunities arise.

    In short, the IBOAI is a key voice of IBOs inside Amway.
     
  2. The IBOA International organizes IBOs and shares information and knowledge among them.

    Members of the IBOA International receive information to help them run an independent business more successfully. They are also kept up-to-date on new techniques and processes being implemented by fellow business owners.

    For example, the IBOA International recently made it a priority to research ways IBOs can leverage technology to strengthen and grow their businesses. Members learn what works for IBOs and how to integrate these techniques into their own businesses.
     
  3. The IBOA International promotes the Independent Business Ownership opportunity to the public.

    Through its promotional efforts, the IBOA International creates awareness of Amway and builds interest in the opportunity. As a result, it's easier for IBOs to increase product sales and register new IBOs.
